Summer is over, and with it comes the end of the music festival season. Since most big festivals take place in the summer, many bands will tour during those months since they’re already on the road for festivals. However, many acts continue touring, and the festival scene passes over some great music. Grab something pumpkin-flavored, grab a flannel and get ready to stand in line in the brisk fall air. Here are some of the acts that will be hitting Michigan before the year is over:

If you’re a hip-hop head, you have a few artists to look forward to. On Oct. 8, Chance the Rapper, Travi$ Scott and others will be performing at Eastern Michigan University. Chance is still touring his mixtape entitled “Acid Rap,” that was released in spring of 2013.

Hip-hop legend Nas will be performing at The Fillmore in Detroit on Oct. 9 for the 20th anniversary of his debut classic, “Illmatic.” He will be performing the album in full, as well as showing a documentary beforehand that portrays the creation of the album. If there’s one show to see with what’s left of this year, this is the one.

On Oct. 18, SchoolBoy Q will be hitting the University of Michigan with the release of his latest album, “Oxymoron” that was released in March.

Finally, rap duo Run The Jewels, consisting of Killer Mike and El-P will be at St. Andrews Hall Nov. 25 promoting their album “RTJ2,” that will be released Oct. 28.

If you’re more into alternative or indie rock, there are plenty of options for you as well.

This upcoming Tuesday, Sept. 30, Cloud Nothings will be performing at the Magic Stick.  This will be the best show for the remainder of the year when it comes to indie rock. Dum Dum Girls will also be performing at the Magic Stick in October.

Nov. 10 will see alt-J hitting The Fillmore in Detroit. Out of all the shows, this one is the most likely to sell out, so if you want to go, buy your tickets as soon as possible. November will also have Julian Casablanca of The Strokes touring with his band, The Voidz, at St. Andrew’s Hall on the 19th.

Other artists worth checking out are Charli XCX on Oct. 11 (this is the only show I have a ticket for so far), Foxygen at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac on Oct. 15, tUnE-yArDs, also at the Crofoot, but on Oct. 21, and finally, Flying Lotus at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on Oct. 23.
